In all too many presentations, the presenter loses the audience because they disengage from the subject matter. This often occurs simply because the presenter has omitted to have a predetermined message (or number of messages) carefully laid out in a logical order. Instead they just have a mass of information in their possession that they are determined to ‘get out there’.
The point we’re making here is that the presenter needs to recognise and understand the message or messages that they wish to convey. Often, a presentation will contain just a headline message and a small number of additional points that are important to take to the audience.
